Which officer should you contact? Here are their basic responsibilities: The commander is overall in charge (but don't contact him if one of the following has the job to help you). He leads while inspiring and growing the Post. The First Vice Commander is in charge of membership. The Second Vice Commander arranges functions at the post to help the public and members have fun doing the work of the post. The Adjutant maintains records and does administrative tasks. The Finance Office maintains budgets and spending records. The Service Officer helps members by connecting them with the correct person or organization to handle their problems. He works with the community to keep the community informed of our plans and to keep the members informed of community activities. He acts as a liaison between members and the VA. The Chaplin is the moral leader of the post in ceremonial and patriotic occasions. He also informs the Post members of those in need of group prayers. The Sergeant-At-Arms welcomes and announces new members and visitors and also assists with flag and ceremony details. The Amreicanism Chairman is ready to bring the honors of being an American and Flag handling procedures and training to the community. He welcomes the chance to talk to Scouts and other young people on those subjects.
